Bereavement Committee This group reaches out to all
persons who have lost a loved one. Volunteers are needed for such
things as house sitting, babysitting, transportation, various household
chores, and help with setting up and serving funeral receptions in Dwyer
Hall. Christmas Children's Pageant Coordinator or Helper: Directs the children readers and
participants (grades 4,5 & 6) in the annual pageant on Christmas Eve.
Time involved would be for three rehearsals and the pageant itself.
All materials provided. "Church Mice" Craft Group: This group meets weekly on
Tuesdays, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m., from September to June. They produce
crafts and needlework for the annual Christmas Boutique. The money
from the Boutique is given to the parish for various projects.
Anyone who is interested in crafts is welcome to join. Culture of Life Committee: "All together, we must build a new
culture of life" (Pope John Paul II, The Gospel of Life). The
committee meets several times a year and organizes events that promote
the culture of life, including : a Culture of Life Prayer Service,
outdoor Rosary in the Grotto, participation in the National Night of
Prayer, and an annual baby shower to support local crises pregnancy
centers. The committee also provides educational material and
legislative updates through the parish bulletin. Coffee Sunday Helper: Sunday Coffees are held monthly in
Dwyer Hall after liturgies, except during the summer. It is a great
opportunity to meet and visit with fellow parishioners. Volunteers
are needed to prepare the tables and serve the donuts and drinks after one
liturgy, approximately two times a year. Finance Committee: The Finance Committee meets
monthly to advise the pastor on matters of budget and finance. Good Friday Living Stations Coordinator or Helper: Silent re-enactment of the
Stations of the Cross by children in grades 4-6. High school
students read the mediation. Time involved would be 2-3 rehearsals
and the play itself. All materials provided. IC-Parish.com Website Help Website is updated weekly with
an online bulletin, parish news and events. Each ministry can put
information, forms and schedules on the site. Links to other Catholic
sites and F.M. community sites are also included on the parish website. IC Good News: The IC Good News is the quarterly parish
newspaper. For over twenty-five years, the IC Good News has covered
events happening in the Church, IC School and the parish community.
The newspaper offers volunteer opportunities for parishioners interested
in reporting, typing, editing, proofreading, photography and preparing the
newspaper for mailing. IC Green Team: Volunteers are needed to help
keep our gardens looking their best. Mulch is provided. BYO
tools. Sign-ups will take place in the Spring or you may call to
volunteer. Inventory Assistant: Monthly inventory of paper
products in the kitchen. Re-order and re-stock as necessary. Lenten Luncheon Helper: Each Wednesday during Lent, from
12 to 1 p.m., a program of speakers is provided for spiritual
reflection. Soup and bread are provided. Helpers are needed to set up
and clean up. Maintenance Volunteer Parish Council: The Parish Council is a reflective
body which discerns the needs of the parish and its various programs and
activities, consistent with and expressive of the gospel. Playroom Volunteer: Parents of children between the
ages of 8 months and 4 1/2 years are invited to take advantage of the
Playroom that is available during the 9:00 am and 10:30 am liturgies
from September through June. Parents and teenagers are asked to
volunteer at least once every three months. Duties include
supervising play and reading stories. Prayer Shawl Ministry Senior Citizen Luncheon Helper: Each month, except during the
summer, a special liturgy and luncheon is held in Dwyer Hall at 11:30 am
for senior citizens. Parish volunteers set-up, prepare and serve the
meal. Stewardship Committee: The committee's focus is to build
a 'stewardship culture' at Immaculate Conception. This committee is
responsible for the development of renewal programs, events, and other
means of allowing parishioners to share their God given gifts of time,
talent and treasure with the parish and community. Transportation for the Sick and Shut-in: Volunteers are needed at various
times to provide transportation to Mass, appointments, etc., for the sick
and shut-in parishioners. Visit Sick and Shut-in Parishioners: This committee reaches out in love
to our sick and shut-in parishioners. They visit them, pray with
them, and bring Communion. Unemployed Parishioners
Group Vocation Committee: The purpose of this committee is
to raise the consciousness of the parish about the need for vocations to
the priesthood and the religious life. Meetings are held three or
four times a year. Women of Immaculate Conception: Meet to address the needs of
families thru spiritual, education and social programs. The
"Circle of Care" provides meals for families who have a new baby, have
lost a loved one or may be experiencing serious illness. The group
coordinates several activities, including the parish picnic, Fall Wine
and Cheese Social and a play group for toddlers that meets Wednesdays
from 10 am to noon in the parish nursery.
