Children's Liturgy

The Children's Liturgy volunteers present the Word of God in simple terms that help the children feel connected to the Church.

Each volunteer is given the material they will need to effectively present the week's readings.  This is your time with the children.  You have the freedom to be as creative with the material as you want.  You also have the great resource of the other volunteers who have been doing this ministry as well as help from your Ministry coordinator if you ever need it.  It is so important that our children, YOUR children, see you sharing your faith.  Volunteering with the children will deepen your own faith in ways you never expected.

Current Volunteers:

Mike Hausladen, Arsul DeJesus, Kristen Palazolli, Dana Sheridan and Marie Koch.

From Arsul DeJesus (Sunday 11:00 liturgist)
When I was growing up in the Philippines, we were fortunate to be part of a vibrant parish/faith community.  One of the things that our pastor emphasized was youth education and participation in parish activities.  We were part of every major Parish activity and had an active part in Sunday masses.  We had summer retreats, bible studies, church choir, Passion plays, Easter plays, Christmas plays, and Children's liturgy.  My experiences made a great impact on me and inspired me to maintain that kind of church involvement.  I love kids and I love teaching and I thought, what better way to help the parish by doing something that I love to do.

From Dana Sheridan (Sunday 11:00 liturgist)
I feel very strongly that it is important for our children to be able to hear the Word of God in a language and in such a way that they can understand.  Since I feel the Children's Liturgy program teaches our children in just that way, I am happy to help facilitate and help "make it happen".  I enjoy going to Children's Liturgy as it truly helps to deepen my faith.  The study guides have taught me wonderful ways to show the children how they can live as Jesus taught us.  Each one of the Children's Liturgy helpers has their own wonderful way of teaching the children and it is fun to be a part of it all!
