Liturgy Committee

The Liturgy Committee of Immaculate Conception is a group of volunteers  that plan and decorate for Sunday liturgies and prayer services.  They seek to enhance the worship experience for all in the parish.

The Liturgy Committee has three subcommittees: Music, Art & Environment, and Prayer & Worship.

Music Ministry:

See Music Ministry webpage.

Art & Environment:

We strive to use all the senses to raise our awareness of the presence of God.  Flowers, decorations, symbols, sounds and incense all engage the parishioner to deepen one's faith and worship experience.  Under the guidance of Nina Gagliano, Pam Collins, Elizabeth Van Eiderstein, John Berry, Paul Berry, Mary Coleman, Sue Gilbert, Alyce MacNamara, Pat Himbert, and Nancy Nozinski, we decorate for the seasonal feasts, solemnities, and Ordinary time.  Additionally, many others help out at Christmas and Easter.

Prayer and Worship:

Sister Monica, Marion Swanson, and Mary Ann Jefferies plan Evening Prayer and Stations of the Cross, Communion Services, and other para-liturgical celebrations and missions during the Liturgical year.  A rotating team writes the weekend Opening Commentary and Prayer of Petition for the weekend masses:  Sue Bombart, John Linderoth, Eileen Ziobrowski, Gisella Morteliti, Marcella Eichenlaub and Mary Ann Jeffries.  Resource materials are provided.

We meet six times a year to plan: autumn, Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter/Holy Week, and the summer feasts.  Watch the bulletin or call Mary Ann (682-1066) for dates.
We meet in Dwyer Hall, usually on a Monday night at 7:00.  Anyone interested is welcome!
